Originating in Japan, Ikijime is a humane fish killing technique involving the insertion of a spike – an Ikijime tool – into the brain of the fish immediately after capture. The process is quick and respectful. Eliminating the unnecessary stress not only improves the welfare of the fish but results in a far superior quality tasting product that stays fresher for a longer period of time.
Ikijime Quality is a London-based company set up in 2017. The logo takes influences from the client's Japanese heritage combined with a European feel and will be used across stationery, stickers and gill tags.
