Monkshood is known as the 'Queen Mother of poisons' (or sometimes Queen) and considered to be the most poisonous plant in Europe. In Ancient Greece, monkshood was believed to have been spawned from the saliva of the hound of Hades, Cerberus, the three-headed dog guarding the gates of the Underworld. Dripping in opulence - the three arrow shapes are a small detail from Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara. This was the tiara worn by Queen Elizabeth on her wedding day; it famously came apart and had to be taped up.
